COURTNEY - HUNTING GUIDE/DOG TRAINER I grew up in a hunting family and have guided hunts professionally since 2011. As a fifth generation Texan with with roots in the Texas Hill Country, some of my earliest memories involve spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with my dad. I have also been a dog fanatic for as long as I can remember. Many years ago, I was deer hunting with some friends and one of the hunters shot a buck that managed to disappear into the brush. After an exhaustive search, we called a local cowboy and his renowned deer tracking dog. The skill and efficiency with which his dog located, ran, and bayed that deer was one of the most amazing things I had ever witnessed. Eventually, deer dogs and hog dogs became an obsession but it wasn't until I met Rod, who I would eventually marry, that I realized the potential to work for myself as a full-time dog handler and trainer. With Rod's support and encouragement, I am actively "following my dream" of building a small kennel focused on producing beautiful dogs with exceptional drive, intelligence, and grit. Our philosophy is that each dog bred and litter whelped is for a purpose. Tragically, in 2020 we lost our best dog, Rowdy. Rowdy had earned the highest level of the Texas Blood Trackers tracking title (TBT III) and recovered over 150 deer in 5 seasons. In our last season together, she successfully recovered every deer except for 2 and both of those bucks were later reported to be alive and well. In 2020 we relocated to Rancho Encantado in South Texas. We are still trailing deer with Rowdy's half sister and it's been such a blessing to have her. ROD Cazador Kennels would not be possible without encouragement and support of my husband Rod and, together, we are proud to be working with several prominent organizations to develop competitive outlets for working dogs. |

THE NATIONAL LACY DOG REGISTRY
The NLDR was created in 2009 to fill the growing need for standardization, preservation and sound breeding practices in the Lacy community. The mission of the NLDR is to promote correct conformation standards, support sound temperament and preserve the natural working ability in purebred Lacy Dogs. To achieve this mission, the NLDR is developing a multifaceted database that stores extended pedigrees as well as performance accomplishments, health certifications, inbreeding coefficients and more. By combining these accurate records with standardized inspections and a thorough registration process, NLDR provides a superior experience for breeders and owners alike.
